celebrity stock photos - Ashlee Simpson

Ashlee Simpson was spotted indulging in some retail therapy on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills with a friend on December 23, keeping her post-baby-bod pretty much under wraps with layers of slimming black.

To get Ashlee's look, start with a cropped velvet jacket (like Elizabeth Gillett Ltd's Lydia Velvet Jacket in Black) over a long black tank (I love the embellished details of Signorelli's Faith Tank in Black) and black leggings (Hudson Jeans' Carly Skinny Jean in Black would have made the look more polished) tucked into slouchy black boots.

Next up, snag an oversized pair of square shades and a sheer patterned scarf, and finish things off with long gold charm necklaces (Robyn Rhodes' Bree Drop with Leaf Necklace in Rose Quartz is beautiful, and Jessica Elliot's Large Vermeil Antique Key Necklace is just like the one Ash wears) and of course the nailpolish shade of the season, steel grey.

What do you think of Ashlee's out-and-about outfit here - love it or lose it? I am just glad that she's back to blonde, as I was never a fan of that unnatural red shade she's been sporting recently. While recent reports have claimed that none of the weekly magazines were interested in purchasing the first images of Ashlee and husband Pete Wentz's son, Bronx Mowgli, the couple has decided to post a family Christmas portrait online, for free. The Los Angeles Times blog jokingly says, "I can just hear Bronx in 10 years: "Brangelina's twins got 13 million bucks for two national magazine covers and all I got was this lousy online Christmas card?" What do you think, if you had seen Bronx's first photos on a magazine, would you have picked it up and purchased it, or kept on moving through the checkout aisle?
