Kate Hudson headed back to work and got the New Year off to a good start after returning to NYC on January 3. Kate started her day with some mind-body maintenance at a Soho health club before treating herself to coffee with a girlfriend and taking a brief (and chilly!) stroll with her pal.

Like most of us this holiday season, Kate was lucky to have a few days off work before the endless promotional circuit starts for her new funny flick, Bride Wars with Anne Hathaway, which is out this Friday, Jan 9. If you haven’t seen the trailer, I suggest you take a look, as the movie is ripe with hilarious bridezilla moments culminating in Kate’s hair getting dyed blue. There are only so many ways to make a romantic bridal comedy work, but I’m actually excited about this one.

Kate took a moment to comment to the press on her own quest to find Mr. Right: “I don’t know yet who the perfect guy is. I do know that I like honest guys. That gets me going.
