in London on Dec 14 with a mystery man to tow, Kate Hudson attended a much deserved wrap party at the Maddox Night Club. I had to laugh out loud at the continued tabloid speculation over this new possible beau, because her date is none other than her biological father, Bill Hudson.

It's cice to see Kate rekindling the father-daughter bond in time for the holidays! Getting dressed up for the occasion, Kate let her flirty side loose with a pair of glitzy shorts over black tights (try Johnson’s Satin Belt Loop Short in Black or the Silk Shorts with Cuff in Black Feather Print), black knee high boots and a masculine black blazer (like Signorelli’s classic Logo Blazer in Black).

Getting cozy with a tan shawl (similar to Elizabeth Gillett’s Dakota Ruffle Triangle Shawl in Ivory), Kate clutched a black envelope purse (check out Julie K’s sleek Sasha Clutch in Black Glaze) in one hand and her dad’s hand in the other. I love her smoky eyes and nude lips, but the real question here is the ‘fit: do you think the shorts work with the tights? It seems kind of like a theatre costume gone awry in my opinion!

Despite the appearance, you can’t deny Kate does have the gams for the boots, which she would happily attribute to her incredibly active lifestyle. Kate recently dished to Harper’s Bazaar about her life philosophy: “Life is too short to be concerned with anything but having a great time. Sports are big in my life. I swim, run, bike and dance, play volleyball and soccer, and I want to start training for a triathlon. I’m one of those people who love to be active.” That’s a lot of activity for one person! Do any of you forgo the gym and play sports instead to stay in shape?
